Who didn't love that undead comedy flick "Zombieland"? The film had everything one could look for in a zombie film, and then some. Now the original writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick have confirmed that "Zombieland 2" is definitely happening. But will Woody Harrelson return as Tallahassee in the sequel?
Fans have been begging for "Zombieland 2" since the first film was released back in 2009. However, Woody Harrelson has expressed his uncertainty over a possible sequel. His costar Jesse Eisenberg has also been hesitant about returning as lead character Columbus. So is there any way that Tallahassee will come back in the new film?
'Zombieland 2' Definitely Happening, Woody Harrelson Confirmed To Return As Tallahassee?
Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick have been planning "Zombieland 2" so long. There were even plans to make a TV series but that has been scrapped. However, the screenwriters are back to confirm that yes, the sequel is moving forward.
"That is breaking news that we're on 'Zombieland 2' right now," the writers announced on AMC's Geeking Out (via ComicBook). Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick also revealed that they are already meeting up with Woody Harrelson about his return as Tallahassee.
"We're sitting with Woody tomorrow and are going to sort of walk him through some of the stuff we want to do," they shared. Oh, and they pretty much confirmed that the rest of the original cast is "pretty excited" about "Zombieland 2". This could mean that Jesse Eisenberg, Emma Stone and Abigail Breslin will be back in the sequel.
There is little doubt that "Zombieland 2" will be just as entertaining as the first film. However, it would be more fun to find out what Woody Harrelson will request of the sequel's director. The actor had famously agreed to do "Zombieland" on the condition that Ruben Fleischer stops eating dairy during filming.
There is no word yet on when "Zombieland 2" will start production. Likewise, it has not yet been confirmed if there is any director brave enough to go with Woody Harrelson's conditions.
