Fans got the saddest gift when "Downton Abbey" ended exactly on Christmas Day of 2015. Although eight months have already passed, many TV viewers still haven't moved on from its ending. However, they now have all the reason to celebrate since "Downton Abbey" is returning to the small screen.
'Downton Abbey' TV Marathon
According to KPBS, "Downton Abbey" Season 1 to Season 6 wcan be watched in a TV marathon this coming Labor Day weekend. Titled "I Miss Downton Abbey," it will be a celebration of the renowned Masterpiece Classic anthology. It would be hosted by Allen Leech, who played the role of Tom Branson.
"I Miss Downton Abbey!" will show the deeper side of the show's cast members, its outstanding storylines and its different kind of locations. It is set to give "Downton Abbey" fans a glimpse of its never-before-seen sequences, behind-the-scene videos and exclusive clips from Season 1 to Season 6. They, too, will be treated with an interview of the show's entire cast together with its creator Julian Fellowes and executive producer Gareth Neame.
Remembering 'Downton Abbey'
To recall, "Downton Abbey" story started when Titanic sank in North Atlantic Ocean in 1912. It mostly tackled the lives of the aristocrats in the early days and their servants. "There was no way to ignore the First World War," the producer Liz Trubridge said about the show, as per Wall Street Journal. Although they tried not to depict the situation, it was still shown in the first few episodes of the historical period drama.
Some the 20th- century improvement was also seen in "Downton Abbey." From the evolution big and small, the show is so intricate, it is very well detailed. It depicted sexual equality, hemlines, telephones, and toasters just to name a few of its five years of existence. "I Miss Downton Abbey!" will begin on Sept. 2 and will run until Sept. 5 on KPBS.
