Superman's upcoming debut is undoubtedly the most anticipated event in "Supergirl" Season 2. But is it possible that Clark Kent will have a bigger role than Kara Danvers? Will Tyler Hoechlin sideline Melissa Benoist when the new season premieres on The CW?
Fans were elated when it was confirmed that Superman will finally show up in "Supergirl" Season 2. After all, the DC superhero only had faceless appearances in the first seasons. People were not satisfied with the flashbacks or the texted-in cameos so everyone rejoiced when former "Teen Wolf" star Tyler Hoechlin was brought in to play Clark Kent.
Tyler Hoechlin's Superman To Have Bigger Role Than Melissa Benoist In 'Supergirl' Season 2?
There is little doubt that Superman will have a major role in "Supergirl" Season 2. But is it possible that Tyler Hoechlin will overshadow Melissa Benoist's Kara Danvers in the new CW series? Showrunner Andrew Kreisberg teases that Clark Kent will play largely in pushing Kara to do more while talking about casting Hoechlin for the role.
"Superman should make you feel like you can do anything, even though he's the one that can do anything," Kreisberg told Collider. Does this mean Tyler Hoechlin's character will have a larger role in "Supergirl" Season 2? Will Melissa Benoist's Kara Danvers have to sit back while Clark Kent takes over the series?
It is highly unlikely that Superman will overshadow his famous cousin. After all, the show is called "Supergirl" Season 2. Nevertheless, there is a huge possibility that the series will dedicate an episode to Clark Kent's backstory. Hopefully, the show will explore how Kal-El dealt with his powers and will teach Kara how to control her own. The new season will premiere on The CW on October 10.
