'Ready Player One' Release Date, Spoilers, News & Update: The Flash To Cameo In Steven Spielberg New Film?

Easter eggs abound in Steven Spielberg's sci-fi flick "Ready Player One", and fans are already looking forward to the hunt. New images from the set of the film reveal tons of references to 80's films and TV shows. But is it possible that DC comic book character The Flash will pop up somewhere in the movie?

'Ready Player One' Set Photos Are All About Steven Spielberg Film References And Then Some

"Ready Player One" has officially started filming in Birmingham in England. The set is currently being prepared with several images from the classic 80's films and TV shows.

Twitter user Michelle Green has snapped some cool photos of the "Ready Player One" set, and each image is a big fat Easter egg. A quick visit to Green's Twitter account reveals pictures of Gizmo from "Gremlins" and the Screaming Meemie from "Madballs".

These are not the only adorable characters that will appear in "Ready Player One". A certain quirky speedster also showed up in the set photos.

The Flash is not the only one who will appear in "Ready Player One". It looks like he brought King Shark with him as well.

OK, so that's actually the shark from "Jaws", which happens to be another Steven Spielberg film. Still, seeing all the references to classic movies confirms that fans will have lots of fun looking for Easter eggs in "Ready Player One".

"Ready Player One" is directed by Steven Spielberg and stars Tye Sheridan as Wade Watts. Olivia Cooke will portray Art3mis while T.J. Miller will play the aptly-named i-R0k. "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" baddie Ben Mendelsohn will appear as main antagonist Nolan Sorrento.

The "Ready Player One" release date has been moved back from its initial December 2017 schedule. The film hits theaters on March 30, 2018.
