"Jessica Jones" Season 2 isn't happening until 2018, but fans already have huge expectations about the upcoming new season. Some believe that it is possible that the Purple Man will come back to terrorize Jessica once again. Could David Tennant return as Kilgrave in the Netflix series?
In the "Jessica Jones" Season 1 finale, David Tennant's Kilgrave took desperate measures to regain control of Krysten Ritter's Jessica. He took a dangerous amount of the chemical that gave him his powers to make himself stronger. Unfortunately, it all backfired when Jessica still managed to resist his mind control. As a result, she got close enough to snap the Purple Man's neck.
So yes, Kilgrave is dead and there is no possibility that he will return in "Jessica Jones" Season 2. However, some fans refuse to believe that the Purple Man is gone. There are speculations that David Tennant will appear once again in the second season.
Kilgrave Fans Want David Tennant To Return As The Purple Man In 'Jessica Jones' Season 2
Game & Guide previously reported that it is very unlikely that David Tennant will return as Kilgrave in "Jessica Jones" Season 2. However, some fans commented that there are ways to explain the Purple Man's resurrection.
In the comic books, the Purple Man can regenerate. He is able to heal his own body despite most severe injuries. Whenever he is injured, Kilgrave can put himself in a death-like state as he slowly heals.
So is it possible that David Tennant will come back as Kilgrave in "Jessica Jones" Season 2? Showrunner Melissa Rosenberg has already stated that there are no plans to "repeat" what happened in the first season. However, the Purple Man might still show up in a flashback scene.
