Ragnar Lothbrok will finally return when "Vikings" Season 4 Episode 11 airs on History. But what are his plans for Kattegat and the rest of the world? The last scenes in the midseason finale offered some hints on what will happen next. Will Ragnar attack Wessex and finally meet his youngest son Magnus?
In "Vikings" Season 4 Episode 10, Bjorn and Aslaug learned that the settlement in Wessex has been destroyed and the people were murdered. They also found out that Ragnar has a son with Magnus, whose mother is the late Queen Kwenthrith. It is possible that Ragnar will be told about what happened in "Vikings" Season 4 Episode 11, which will infuriate the King of Kattegat.
But what will Ragnar do about the massacre? It is possible that he will lead his sons and his army to Wessex to confront King Ecbert. But will he be able to continue the attack once he meets his son Magnus in "Vikings" Season 4 Episode 11?
Magnus was conceived in "Vikings" Season 3 when Ragnar helped Kwentrith take Mercia. However, Ragnar did not know he got the Queen pregnant. Although Kwenthrith was killed by Judith, King Ecbert chose to raise Magnus in Wessex. There is little doubt that the King of Wessex and Mercia will use the boy to negotiate with Ragnar when he attacks in "Vikings" Season 4 Episode 11.
Although Ragnar could accept Magnus wholeheartedly, it is possible that his other sons will be wary of the boy. There are speculations that the sons of Ragnar will see Magnus as a threat to the throne of Kattegat. They will also be skeptical of his lineage, since there is no real proof that he is also a son of Ragnar.
History has not yet announced when "Vikings" Season 4 Episode 11 will air. The new season could be included in the network's fall lineup, which is expected to be announced by September.
