It has been quite a while since Niantic's "Pokemon Go" took the smartphone gaming industry to another different plane. It has truly revolutionized the typical way of gaming by making a player head out to the real world and explore.
Unfortunately, this new method has brought some level of discomfort amongst avid smartphone gamers who are not used to walking around. Thus, creative players who know more have come up with methods that allow them to power up without ever leaving home.
The problem here is that Niantic, the game developer, does not favor this hacked approach to playing the simulated reality game. It wants players to really go out and explore, and bending its rules could result to suspension or a permanent ban. A report from BGR even claims that a player can do the ultimate "Pokemon Go" cheat without having to jailbreak their phones. This cheat would allow a player to virtually move around and about in the game without physically moving a single inch.
This YouTube video from user iCrackUriDevice demonstrates a hack that is pretty simple to do, even for those without much know how. Simply put, a player would have to uninstall "Pokemon Go", download three files from a website and make the necessary settings.
Another hacked approach to playing "Pokemon Go" is revealed in a post by Gotta Be Mobile which requires a jailbroken device. This hack would allow a user to tap to walk around the screen instead of physically moving around and about.
After a device has been jailbroken or rooted, another app should be installed which would hide its hacked status from Niantic. This is because the "Pokemon Go" app, through its servers and anti hacking mechanisms, will check if the device is jailbroken or rooted. If the server finds out that indeed, the device is rooted or jailbroken, the game will not work on the device. For iOS devices, the tsProtector app must be installed and Hide My Root is the app's counterpart for those who use Android.
Then the location faking app must be downloaded into the player's device; for iOS devices, it is called LocationFaker, and for Android devices its Fake Location Spoofer. Once done, a player can begin catching Pokemon without having to leave home at all and without having to move even for a bit.
