Everyone is still going crazy over the success of "Pokemon GO." Touted as one of the biggest mobile games of the year, experts were surprised to find a huge decline in "Pokemon GO" players just a month after its was released.
As a matter of fact, it's not just a small decrease; reports claim that the number of "Pokemon GO" players have decreased by the millions in a span of 36 or so days. However, fans shouldn't be surprised by this fact anymore, as Yugatech reports that the decline is steadily ongoing over the next few days.
Turns out, data sourced from Apptopia says that there were approximately 45 million "Pokemon GO" players on a daily basis back in July. Unfortunately, the number of daily "Pokemon GO" users by August 16, 2016 only came out to about 30 million.

Android Police attributes the decline to a number of reasons. One of which would be Niantic's delayed response to fix bugs found in the "Pokemon GO" app, and another could be Niantic's move to remove Pokemon tracking. Meanwhile, Bloomberg notes that if the decreasing amount of active "Pokemon GO" players continue, it could spell trouble for the augmented reality gaming industry. "The Google Trends data is already showing declining interest in augmented reality, whereas interest in virtual reality remains high," said Axiom Capital Management Senior Analyst, Victor Anthony.
Even with the unexpected decline of "Pokemon GO" players, it doesn't necessarily mean that the game will soon cease to exist. As a matter of fact, "Pokemon GO" is still foreseen to perform well as a gaming app, but maybe just not as well as it used to be.
"It's not like 'Pokemon GO' is done for with 'only' tens of millions of active players, but it's probably never going to be the strangely social gaming experience it was during those first few weeks," Android Police concluded. But there is some hope for "Pokemon GO" to possibly pick up the pace once again.
Niantic did say that they're woking on adding some new features to "Pokemon GO," so players still have something to look forward to. Let's just hope this can help the game developer bring back some -- if not most -- of the "Pokemon GO" players they lost the past month.
