It looks like the nerd finally gets the girl in "Stranger Things" Season 2. Jonathan Byers might get another chance with Nancy Wheeler in the second season of the Netflix series. Will she leave Steve for Jonathan when the show returns? And will Dustin finally save those chocolate puddings from the cafeteria?
Jonathan And Nancy Are Hawkins' Hot New Couple In 'Stranger Things' Season 2?
Poor Jonathan Byers didn't get the girl in "Stranger Things" Season 1, because Steve managed to save the day with a baseball bat. However, Matt and Ross Duffer have revealed that Nancy was not supposed to end up with Steve, but they changed the script at the last minute.
Ross Duffer revealed that they made Steve the hero because of Joe Keery's performance. "He was so likable that he gave the character such dimensions that we wanted to give him an arc at the end," Ross told IGN. However, Matt Duffer teased that things might change for Steve in "Stranger Things" Season 2. Jonathan could get a change with Nancy when the show returns.
Matt Duffer admitted that the idea of Nancy being with Jonathan is "like a fantasy" for him since "it doesn't feel very realistic." However, Jonathan/Nancy shippers can rest assured that the creator is considering it for "Stranger Things" Season 2.
Jonathan is not the only one who could start a romance in "Stranger Things" Season 2. Dustin might also be reunited with his beloved chocolate puddings in the kitchen.

Netflix has not yet announced the "Stranger Things" Season 2 air date. However, the series is expected to premiere by July 2017.
