‘Titanfall 2’ Latest News, Release Date & Update: Game Director Steve Fukuda Explains Slowing Down & Reveals Favorite Enhancement

Fans went crazy over the weekend as Respawn released beta tests for "Titanfall" 2. Director of the game explained slowing down the pace of the game in a recent interview following the beta tests.

Slower-Paced For Gamers

Players may have already noticed the subtle difference of "Titanfall 2" in last weekend's technical beta tests, Shacknews reported. While there are changes from the original mech-based military shooter, game developer Respawn aims to give players a deeper experience when playing the game.

Game director Steve Fukuda discussed with the website the different changes found in "Titanfall 2." The main difference between the original game and "Titanfall 2" perhaps is slowing the pace of the game a bit.

Fukuda explained that players are moving too fast, that they can no longer think of ways how to cope or to get better. As Fukuda puts it, "It was difficult for players to have a predictably unpredictable kind of experience." That's why they decided to slow things down a bit in "Titanfall 2."

Slowing the game a bit gives players more time to bask in the game. As such, players are going to react differently, Fukuda said. They have more time to find more ways on how to play the "Titanfall 2" best. In turn, the players have a deeper sense of purpose.

Fukuda's Favorite Add-On: Stim

When asked about his favorite enhancement on "Titanfall 2," may it be new weapons or titans, Steve Fukuda answered stim. He found using stim to be really fun. He emphasized that stim is faster compared in the original game.

Aside from this, Steven Fukuda is also excited about the social element of "Titanfall 2." "It's the chat window, the IRC, the whole thing," Fukuda said. "It brings back memories of playing Counter-Strike on a server that I was familiar with and going in there all the time and recognizing the names."

Fukuda also added that the progression system in "Titanfall 2" is more in-depth compared to the previous game. The range of unlocks was expanded greatly that it gives something for everybody.

"Titanfall 2" is scheduled to be released on October 28, 2016 on PC, Playstation and Xbox One platforms. Another beta test will run this weekend. Check out the gameplay trailer for tech test below.
