The latest "Pokemon GO" update will require players to revive their Pokemon if a creature fails in Gym Battles. They will also be required to do the same if Pokemon are placed to defend a gym. The Niantic update has brought significant changes in gameplay over and above the last update that brought changes in movesets of several Pokemon.
Now, if a "Pokemon GO" trainer is training Pokemon, they may faint and then would require players to restore their life. Reports suggest Pokemon that have been taken out of Gyms may also faint and need to be revived, reports The Bitbag.
Subreddit The Silph Road started a thread discussing these "Pokemon GO" changes and the update has received mixed reviews. While some have opposed the update, many believe they will now be able to use "revives" frequently than before. Players running low on potions will also benefit from this "revive" feature.
If a Pokemon faints, it comes back with fewer hit points (HP) and "Pokemon GO" players would have to revive it. They will need to use "revives" if HP is depleted for Pokemon and this will bring them back into action.
This also means, players will now be hunting for "Pokemon GO" "revives" more than potions. Fans who opposed this update are frustrated as, up to now, they had been collecting potions and ignoring "revives."
As a result of this "Pokemon GO" Gym update, players will also need to devise new game strategies. Now "revives" bring Pokemon back to life while potions heal them to a certain extent. Players having Pokemon with zero HPs would now need to use "revives" to bring them back. However, players having Pokemon with at least one HP, may use a potion as it will boost their HP by 20.
Certain "Pokemon GO" attack moves were also replaced with new ones. iTech Post reported that Dugtrio, Diglett, Graveler and Gloem are now equipped with the Mud Slap move, replacing the old Mud Shot.
