PlayStation Now Latest News, Release Date & Update: PC version, DualShock 4 Wireless USB Adapter Happening Soon!

Sony has announced that PlayStation Now will soon invade PC owners, meaning more gaming options await the hardcore gamers. The streaming service will initially hit the UK with North America following thereafter.

Word of such comes from the official PlayStation Now website where the app will go live once ready. Aside from the service, it was also announced that a DualShock 4 Wireless USB adapter will also be coming.

The adapter is needed to connect PS4 controllers wirelessly to the PC and enjoy PS Now and Remote Play. Connectivity will be channeled through the usual Bluetooth or USB means. The adapter is expected to be released in September with a reported SRP of $25 for both PC and Mac.

No PS Console needed

For those wondering, the PC version will not require you to own a PS game console to enjoy the service. All this was explained by PS Network’s Erick Lempel who explains that all gamers have to do is have a PlayStation Now subscription. "You just sign in with your ID and you're off and running. Your saved games come over with you, you can continue where you left off, you can start on the PC and continue on a console, and vice versa,” says Lempel per GameSpot.

Can all games be played wirelessly?

Word of the PS Now invading the PC and Mac is good news though some want to know if the DualShock 4 will work with all the games available on PlayStation Now similar to that of the Xbox One. Sony has yet to comment on the matter.

There are over 400 games available on PlayStation Now headlined by “The Last of Us”, “Uncharted PS3” and PS3 “Infamous” games. For those who have not signed up, PS Now costs $20 monthly and $45 for a three-month contract. A free seven-day trial can be availed for folks who want to test it out first.
