Matt Schaub and the AFC leading Houston Texans got the ball leading the game 24-21 with just over three minutes remaining. The Texans were hoping to pickup a couple of first downs and run out the clock, when Lance Briggs hit Arian Foster in the backfield and knocked the ball loose.
In a frenzied scramble, Chicago defensive end Julius Peppers jumped on the lose ball and tucked it away. A few plays later Matt Forte took the ball in the endzone for the game-winning touchdown. The Bear defeat the Texans 28-24 on NBC's "Sunday Night Football."
The Bears won their seventh straight game and are now 8-1 and are now tied with the Atlanta Falcons for the best record in the NFC.
Jay Cutler was sacked four times, but finished 28 for 39 for 286 yards with three touchdowns, an interception and a fumble. Brandon Marshall caught seven passes for 145 yards and two touchdowns. Forte added 85 yards on 23 carries with one touchdown.
The Cutler-Marshall duo teamed up early in the first quarter on a 38-yard touchdown completion that gave the bears a 7-0 lead. The scoring play capped-off an 11-play, 80-yard drive that started back on Chicago's 15 yard line.
The Texans gave the ball right back to the Bears on A Schaub interception, but Houston's opportunistic defense intercepted Cutler three plays later. The Texans then marched the ball down field and Andre Johnson caught a six-yard grab to tie the game at seven a piece.
Schaub completed 21 of 32 passes for 240 yards and two touchdowns, but was intercepted two times for the Texans. Foster ran for 102 yards on 27 carries with one touchdown.
