'Fast 8' Release Date, News & Update: Vin Diesel & The Rock's Bromance Brawl is Officially Over

There seems to be no more bad blood between "Fast 8" stars Vin Diesel and Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson. After a week of is-he, isn't-he hints on social media (both Diesel and The Rock are social media savvy, after all), it seems that the rumored testosterone-fueled feud between the two has died down.

People reports that Diesel has taken to Facebook to possibly clear out the rumors that he and The Rock aren't getting along very well. He went live on Facebook to share a story about how a fan suggested that Diesel and The Rock work together on the big screen. Diesel said that The Rock's role in "Fast & Furious" franchise was originally written for Tommy Lee Jones, but was eventually given to The Rock.

"The reason we brought Dwayne Johnson into Fast Five was because of you!" Diesel said in the video. In talking about The Rock's performance as Luke Hobbs in "Fast 8," he even said, "He shined in it." Now whether or not that's a jab at The Rock's shaved head, remains to be unknown.

The Rock first joined the franchise in 2011 as the U.S. Diplomatic Security Service (DSS) agent tasked to arrest Toretto and his crew in "Fast Five." He reprised his role in "Fast 6" in 2013, and "Furious 7" in 2015, and is set to return in next year's "Fast 8."

Rumors of a bromance brawl between The Rock and Vin Diesel surfaced when the former took to Instagram to complain about some of his male co-stars ("Fast 8" has a lot, so it was tricky to really pinpoint who got under his skin). According to Entertainment Weekly, The Rock had some choice words for the anonymous co-star, who he called a "candy ass."

Finished strong and on to the next. That's an officially wrap on #FastAndFurious8. Thank you to our director @fgarygray for the vision and execution. Thank you UNIVERSAL for being tremendous partners as always, thank you to all my fellow co-stars for the daily effort and grind. Scott Eastwood you handsome sumbitch! Natalie Emmanuel I have a cold Budweiser ready for you and Tyrese Gibson you still have the biggest smile and forehead I've ever seen. And a huge THANK YOU to our hard working production crew - the backbone of our business. Your kind words meant a lot to me last night - thank you! In the end, we all rallied, as great teams do, kicked ass and will deliver an amazing movie to the world. Proud of our entire FAST FAMILY. And now in two weeks I'll reunite with ol' friends Kevin Hart & Jack Black and we have the honor to introduce a whole new generation to the amazing world of #JUMANJI. *(for the record we are NOT making a reboot, but rather a continuation of the awesome JUMANJI story). It's also crazy to me how much me, Kev and Jack look like triplets when we're together. Man this is gonna be FUN. #WheelsUp #ThatsAWrap #FromFastAndFurious #StraightIntoJumanji #BigBrownBaldTattooedMan #DarkChocolateComedicRockStar #BrillaintCrazyCurvyCaucasion #TheseHashtagsAreRidiculous #INeedSleepAndCARBS #ButIWillSettleForTequila

Fuel was added to the fire when The Rock posted a farewell message after "Fast 8" wrapped filming. The social media savvy star left out the main actor in the film in his thank you notes, leading followers to believe that it may have been intentional due to the alleged feud.

Whether or not this is the end of Diesel and The Rock's bromance brawl remains to be seen. "Fast 8" zooms into theaters on April 14, 2017.
