Many are aware of the fact that Pokemon trainers, by simply changing the name, can control the evolution of the Eevee. Changing Eevee's name to Rainer gives Vaporeon, for Flareon, one needs to change the name to Pyro and for Jolteon, Sparky is needed. These three are first-generation Pokemon.
However, fans are fervently looking for ways to turn their favorite Eevee to the second generation Espeon, the psychic-type, and Umbreon, the dark type. In preparation for the Gen 2 "Pokemon GO," second generation trainers must know how to evolve their Eevee to Espeon and Umbreon.
If rumors are to be believed, trainers need to do it during daytime and nighttime respectively. Added to that, they need to hit the road and do a lot of walking apart from being at a higher player level, writes Vine Report.
There are speculations galore as to how one can turn Eevee into the Gen 2 Espeon and Umbreon. As per Slash Gear, one way to evolve Eevee is by feeding it Pokemon Candy. While the original games require the user feeding Eevee with "Vitamins" to make it gain Friendship points, "Pokemon GO" will require Candies.
Likewise, a Friendship level of 220 is required for Eevee to evolve in one of the two new forms in the original Gen 2 Pokemon game series. However, with "Pokemon GO," it will likely be CP level and not Friendship level that is already integrated.
In the original game series, Eevee evolutions happen during certain times of the day. It is very much likely that "Pokemon GO" will seek the time of the day according to GPS coordinates and the region the user is in.
If Eevee evolves during 4 a.m. to 5:59 p.m., it will turn into Espeon whereas during the time period 6 p.m. to 3:59 a.m., it will turn into Umbreon.
