"Five Nights at Freddy's: Sister Location" appears to have been cancelled and it was the game creator Scott Cawthon who made the announcement himself. Fans were shocked but some game experts commented that there is no truth in this and it could just be a simple teaser.
On Aug. 20, fans of "Five Nights at Freddy's: Sister Location" noticed that Scott Games website was updated with a blaring message that says "Cancelled." A sub caption was also posted and it reads: "Due to leaks." Anyone who will come across the site will assume that FNaF has been scrapped and it was all because of game leaks.
Nonetheless, it seems that the post has a secret meaning and it actually says more than what people can see. It is true that there had been many leaks prior to the release of "Five Nights at Freddy's: Sister Location" but surely this cannot lead to the cancellation of a promising game that already has a huge base of followers.
Fortunately, the game's release is still on! The message which Cawthon put up on Scott Games' site has a hidden message after all. It was discovered that using an image editor to adjust the brightness of the image will reveal a fictional news story about "Sister Location."
On Steam Community, the full article written behind the cryptic ‘Cancelled' message was posted and part of it reads: "The grand opening of Circus Baby's Pizza World has apparently been cancelled due to reported gas leaks in the building."
Apparently, as stated in the article, the leak being referred to is a gas leak in the building where Circus Baby's Pizza World is located. The pizza restaurant is the new setting where "Five Nights at Freddy's: Sister Location" has been confirmed to take place.
