Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 Development Rumor Debunked By Captain Price Voice Actor Bill Murray

The voice actor who plays Captain Price has squashed the recent rumors about Modern Warfare 4 that allegedly he started, according to a recent report by IGN.

Bill Murray who plays Captain Price says on Twitter that the report is not accurate and that he was misquoted.

"I told the guy I was doing a special new Modern Warfare for China, not Modern Warfare 4,″ he wrote on Twitter. "The guy I spoke to on the plane was very nice and I'm really pleased he loves the game but the facts have got a bit confused somewhere."

The game Murray tweeted about is believed to be a Call of Duty Online free-to-play entry into the series that will be made for the Chinese Market. The game is being developed by Activision Publishing, Inc and will be distributed in China under a partnership with Tencent, which has the exclusive license to operate the game in China. The game will use microtransactions like many other free-to-play titles, according to a report by Forbes.

"We are very excited about our relationship with Tencent and the opportunities for gaming in China," said Bobby Kotick, CEO of Activision Blizzard."Tencent is an ideal partner for Activision to bring Call of Duty Online to China. Tencent has a terrific track record of customer-focused innovation and deep market knowledge that will be invaluable to Activision as we build great games for China.

Last week's report on an Xbox fan site suggested quoted Murray as saying that he was to meet with developer Infinity Ward about the Modern Warfare 4.

Infinity Ward quickly debunked the story and commented "Interesting news today, but it's not true. We've not talked with any voice actors, so all news is speculation."

Murray also tweeted that he could not have been meeting with the developer at the time the report suggested because the logistics would not have made sense.

"I couldn't have said I was meeting them Monday as I was on a Monday evening flight to London," Murray Tweeted. "Sorry for the confusion!"
