Borderlands 2 Developer Gearbox Can't Wait To Show Gamers More DLC

Borderlands 2 has become one of the year's biggest video games. The space western first-person shooter has already had more than five millions units shipped worldwide. Gearbox President Randy Pitchford recently said that the developer has plenty of content that it can't wait to show the public, according to a recent article on the game site GameZone.

"The overwhelmingly positive response to Borderlands 2 from our fans has been incredible," said Pitchford said. "Players have embraced Borderlands 2 as their next hobby with over 50 million interactions with Claptrap in the central town of Sanctuary and 12,000 real world years' worth of time spent shooting and looting their way through Pandora!"

The game was released on Sept. 18 and has already seen the release of one minor downloadable content packs in the form of Gaige, the Mechromancer and one major expansion for the game. Captain Scarlett and Her Pirate's Booty DLC was released on Oct. 16 and takes place in a vast desert that used to be an ocean. Gearbox also has three more add-on campaigns scheduled to release throughout the coming months.

"We are just getting started and have incredible momentum to improve and add to the game all the way through the holiday season and beyond," Pitchford added. "We can't wait to show everyone what more we have in store for Borderlands 2."

Mr. Torgue's Campaign of Carnage is rumored to be the next official DLC for Borderlands 2. The DLC was reported leaked by award trophies discover in an update for the game. Torgue is one of the weapon manufacturers on Pandora.

Gamers looking for a discount of all the planned Borderlands 2 DLC can buy the game's Season Pass for $29.99. The pass will give gamers access to all of the upcoming add-on DLCs at 20-percent less than purchasing the DLC individually.
