David Tennant was undoubtedly the most memorable thing about "Jessica Jones" Season 1. Unfortunately, Kilgrave was killed by Krysten Ritter's Jessica when he tried to kidnap Trish Walker (Rachael Taylor) in the Season 1 finale. But will the Purple Man return in "Jessica Jones" Season 2?
Will David Tennant Reprise His Role As Kilgrave In 'Jessica Jones' Season 2
It might seem impossible for David Tennant to return as Kilgrave in "Jessica Jones" Season 2. After all, Jessica had already snapped his neck in the Season 1 finale. However, showrunner Melissa Rosenberg believes that Tennant's performance as the Purple Man would be hard to top. Which explains why she is bringing in several villains in the next season.
"No one is ever going to beat David Tennant, so you don't do that," she told Entertainment Weekly. Melissa Rosenberg stated that it would be "the biggest mistake" to "repeat" what happened in Season 1. Unfortunately, she did not reveal who will be the main villain(s) in "Jessica Jones" Season 2.
"I can't spoil a surprise," Rosenberg teased. However, that hasn't stopped fans from speculating about the villains in "Jessica Jones" Season 2. Is it someone who has already been under Kilgrave's powers?
Will Simpson To Turn Into Marvel Supervillain Nuke In 'Jessica Jones' Season 2?
Kilgrave may have been the main villain in "Jessica Jones" Season 1, but he wasn't the only one giving Jessica and Trish a hard time. Will Simpson (Wil Traval) started out as just another guy who becomes the Purple Man's victim before becoming Trish's love interest. But then he evolved into a power pill-addicted baddie who ends up in a huge fight with Jessica AND Trish.
There have already been speculations that Will Simpson will be the main villain in "Jessica Jones" Season 2. However, it looks like there will be more baddies to deal with when the series returns to Netflix in 2018.
