Squae Enix has released a new trailer titled " Living Breathing World" for Hitman: Absolution, the upcoming new stealth game developed by IO Interactive and featuring the infamous baldheaded protagonist Agent 47.
The new trailer depicts a video game world that simulates the variation of a living-breathing world. The characters in the game do everyday things and live a fully fleshed out synthetic life. The have conversations and arguments everything appears to be well scripted to give gamers the illusion that they are interacting with a more realistic game world.
In an interview with PlayStation Blog, Tore Blystad, game director and Christian Eleverdam, gameplay director at IO Interactive spoke about how the non playable character react to things including how police react to Agent-47.
"We wanted to widen that a lot. Obviously we still have a lot of stealth elements in the game, Blystad said. "Let's say you get discovered by a police officer. He won't immediately try to shoot you, he'll attempt to arrest you. This means that in Hitman: Absolution we have a bit of rubber-banding, a bit of leeway to try things out. You can back away, find a dark corner or try to disarm him."
He also said that other NPCs will not react well to seeing Agent-47 in certain disguises.
"We created a lot of different scenarios," Blystad said. " So for example there's a kind of hippies' apartment which Agent 47 enters disguised as a police officer. These guys don't like cops, so this disguise is not a good idea in there. But they won't just attack you without warning. They'll want to know why you're there and warn you off. Of course, they might try to attack you, but that's probably not going to end well for them."
Elverdam said that the game will have NPC acting differently according to the situation and that studio built a new tool set to create a better sensation of reality in the open world game.
"Well an open world game needs to feel alive, so that's what we've gone for here," Elverdam said. "The characters can do so many different things according to the situation. Along with the cinematic sequences, this has been the toughest thing for us to get right; hence us having to build our own brand new tool set and basically attack it from any angle. If you take out the guy that was supposed to turn on the lights in a room, it changes the situation completely. Every action, however small, has its own consequence."
Hitman Absolution is scheduled for release across North America and Europe on Nov. 20 for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Windows PC. Check out the trailer below...
