An image of a European poster for Grand Theft Auto V reveals that Rockstar's upcoming open world action-adventure video game will be released in Spring 2013, according to an article on IGN.
The image was posted on fan forum GTA-Five and is the first potential indication of the game's release window. Although the poster does not indicate if the Spring 2013 release window applies to a international release, or if Grand Theft Auto V will release on different dates in other territories.
Grand Theft Auto IV had a simultaneous release in Australia, Europe and North America back in April 2008, with Japan receiving the game some six months later in October 2008.
According to IGN, "the poster the only system/publisher logos on the poster are for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. It appears as though - for now - there are no plans for Wii U." Grand Theft Auto IV released first on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 with a PC version following two months later. So it can be assumed that Grand Theft Auto V may follow suit.
Rockstar said in an interview with TweakTown that Grand Theft Auto V will be the "biggest open world game to date." The first trailer for the game revealed the setting to be Los Santos, the fictional version of Los Angeles and its California surroundings, including Vinewood, a fictional take on Hollywood.
In the game's trailer, GTA 5's unidentified protagonist explains why he moved to the Los Santos. He says, "I wanted to retire from what I was doing, you know, from that, that line of work, be a good guy for once, a family man. So I bought a big house, I came here, put my feet up and thought I'd be a dad like all the other dads. My kids, they'd be like the kids on TV, we'd play ball and sit in the sun, but you know how it is."
