Assassin's Creed 3 Liberation Release Date: New Trailer Showcases Control System

Ubisoft released a new trailer depicting the control system for Assassin's Creed III: Liberation the upcoming historical action-adventure open world stealth video game for PlayStation Vita.

Assassin's Creed III: Liberation Writer Richard Farreese tells PlayStation Blog in the new video, how the team adapted the series' new control scheme and how the portable game will crossover with the PlayStation 3's version of Assassin's Creed III.

The game takes place during the French and Indian War, in 18th Century New Orleans. The protagonist is Aveline de Grandpré, an assassin of French and African ancestry.

Aveline is recruited to the Assassin Brotherhood by Agate, an escaped slave, who acts as her mentor. Part of the game's plot involves on the cultural practice of plaçage, a system in which white French and Spanish and later Creole men entered into the equivalent of common-law marriages with women of African, Indian and European and Creole descent.

Assassin's Creed III: Liberation will be released on Oct. 30 alongside the console game Assassin's Creed III. The PC version of Assassin's Creed III will release for PC on Nov. 20, while a Wii U version will be available at the consoles launch on Nov. 18.
