'Final Fantasy XV' News & Updates: Game Delayed To End of November

After some rumors went out a few days ago that "Final Fantasy XV"—which has long been in development by Square Enix—was going to be delayed, reports came out last night confirming the sad news. The game has been pushed back for a November 29 release, from the original release date of September 30.

GameSpot reports that some GameStop retailers received new "Final Fantasy XV" promotional materials the other day announcing the November 29 date, but with the instructions that they were not to be put up until today. It means that we're now just waiting for an official announcement from developer Square Enix sometime today.

As of now, there's no stated reason for the "Final Fantasy XV" delay. Judging from the two-month push-back, however, it seems as though Square Enix may be cleaning up some last-minute bugs and errors that may be popping up. A worst case scenario would be a bit of a drastic change being made to the game, perhaps in the story or in its third-person action RPG style of gameplay, which is touted to revolutionize the way the "Final Fantasy" franchise is played.

"Final Fantasy XV" has a number of bonus items attached to it should players decide to preorder the game on either console, as well as alternate box art for those who are into that kind of customization. "Final Fantasy XV" is coming out for Playstation 4 and Xbox One, and will most likely be compatible with the PS4 Neo and the Xbox One Scorpio, which will have full 4K video capabilities.

A PC version of "Final Fantasy XV" has not yet been announced, and is not part of Square Enix's plans for it at the moment. We'll have more updates for you about this developing story as we get more information.
