Borderlands 2, 2K Game's space western first-person role-playing shooter pays homage to another 2K game, BioShock in an Easter egg found in the newly released Captain Scarlett and Her Pirate's Booty DLC for Borderlands 2, according to a story first reported by GameInformer.
BioShock's infamous Big Daddy is seen rummaging around the desert in new video posting on YouTube. Big Daddies are fictional characters in the BioShock series of video games that are genetically mutated and altered human beings who have had their skin and organs directly grafted into antiqued, heavily armored atmospheric diving suits.
They are most famously portrayed as being armed with a heavy drill and being massive in size compared to the game's protagonist. Big Daddies do not talk and instead they make a low-pitched groaning noise.
Borderlands 2 was released in September and Captain Scarlett and Her Pirate's Booty DLC was the first single-player expansion released for the game. The expansion adds new areas and enemies such as Sand Pirates and Anchormen and features new quests and unique weapons.
There is three more single-player DLC planned for the game and a recent PlayStation Network update may have revealed the second DLC called Mr. Torgue's Campaign of Carnage.
The third entry in the BioShock Series of first per shooter is set to release on Feb. 26, 2013 for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 platforms. The new game is called BioShock Infinite is not a direct sequel or prequel to the previous BioShock games and takes place in the floating air-city of Columbia.
