Some TV shows can't go past a second or third season. However, it looks like The CW's "Supernatural" is not like other TV shows. The series is about to begin its 12th season in two months and is showing no signs of slowing down.
But how much longer will Sam and Dean Winchester's story continue after "Supernatural" Season 12? The series is expected to stay with The CW even after every other show has run its course.
Sam And Dean Winchester's Adventures To Continue Beyond 'Supernatural' Season 12
There have been speculations that "Supernatural" Season 12 will be the final chapter of Sam and Dean Winchester's story. However, creator Eric Kripke has confirmed that the series will continue as long Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles decide to stay in the show (via Movie News Guide).
Eric Kripke is not the only one who is confident about the show's longevity after "Supernatural" Season 12. The CW president Mark Pedowitz announced that Sam and Dean Winchester will continue hunting as long as the stars want to keep doing it (via io9).
"Jared and Jensen seem very happy," Pedowitz stated. The president of The CW also pointed out that "Supernatural" could continue as long as the fans keep tuning in. However, he might not be around to see the end of the series.
"If the ratings hold, the show could outlast my tenure in this chair [as CW president]," Pedowitz announced. Of course, he might be joking, but somehow it sounds like he is predicting the future beyond "Supernatural" Season 12.
So is there no end for Sam and Dean Winchester after "Supernatural" Season 12? It seems highly unlikely that the series will end anytime soon.
"Supernatural" Season 12 also stars Misha Collins as Castiel and Mark A. Sheppard as Crowley. The series will return to The CW on October 13.
