Assassin's Creed 3 Liberation Release Date: New Trailer Showcases Aveline's Story (Watch here).

The couple sat outside at a table in the garden of beautiful New Orleans home, the young lady fanned at her face and smiled seductively at her male companion. The stood and walked off to distance where they could neither be seen or heard by the other party guest. The man went in for a kiss but was met by a sharp blow to his midsection and a razor blade to his throat.

He fell to the ground his face and clothing was crimson with blood. He gasped for air and closed his eyes with anguish as he was dragged into the darkness of death. She whispered something in the dying man's ear and then returned to the party as casual as ever.

In a new trailer released by Ubisoft, we get a deeper look at Assassin's Creed 3: Liberation's protagonist, Aveline de Grandpré. As the character herself recounts the events that forced her to become an assassin fighting for liberation.

Aveline is an Assassin of mixed African and French heritage. According to the game's official site, "She uses her skills, instinct, and weaponry - including a machete, poison-dart blowpipe, and dueling pistols - to hunt down and eliminate her enemies."

The game will take place in Louisiana Bayou, where Ubisoft promises "an innovative tree navigation system, then eliminate them from above with deadly precision. Dive deep underwater as you search lost Mayan treasures, but stay alert; the hostile wilderness and humid swamps are full of menacing animals."

The new trailer also features a brief appearance by Assassin's Creed 3's Connor; it appears their paths cross in their fight for freedom. Here is the games official plot synopsis for those who aren't familiar with the new title:

"Aveline strikes mortal fear into the hearts of those who stand in her way. As an Assassin, Aveline soon finds herself on an unforgettable journey that will take her from New Orleans' crowded streets, to voodoo-haunted swamps and ancient Mayan ruins. She will play a pivotal role in the turbulent birth of a new nation as she fights for freedom, not only for herself, but for her fellow citizens.

Designed exclusively for the PlayStation Vita system, you'll take full advantage of the PlayStation Vita system's dual touchpads, motion detection, and built-in camera to execute slow-motion chain kills, pickpocket-unsuspecting victims, and pursue your enemies in a canoe. This is no mere port; it's an immersive experience designed purely for the PlayStation Vita system."

Assassin's Creed 3: Liberation is a PlayStation Vita exclusive title and will release on Oct. 30.
