Niantic's "Pokemon GO" has the world in a complete frenzy, walking around to catch rare Pokemon and make them stronger and more valuable.
The developer has recently rolled out new updates that brought back trackers to the game, making it easier to spot and capture such creatures. But how can one progress in the game faster and more efficiently? Utilize the Stardust.
Stardust is an item in "Pokemon GO" that can be utilized when powering up one's Pokemon to increase its CP and HP. While it can't be purchased in the game's store, it can be earned by catching Pokemon or hatching an egg. Catching one Pokemon will bring players 100 Stardust, which can be used on any creature they have captured. Hatching an egg will also earn the player some Stardust, but the amount entirely depends on how long it took to hatch the egg.
According to IGN, "Pokemon GO" also enables players to earn Stardust by defending a gym. All they have to do is find an unclaimed Gym or a Gym of the same color and place a Pokemon inside the Gym, thereby defending it. The player has to wait for 21 hours before he or she will be rewarded with PokeCoins and Stardust for every Pokemon added to the Gym to defend it. But when is the best time to apply Stardust on the Pokemon?
According to Attack of the Fanboy, the best way to maximize the use of Stardust is to hoard it until the player gets to at least level 20. Applying Stardust to collected Pokemon before that may deem useless, because every Pokemon's max CP will only continue to grow as the player levels up. They recommend to use Stardust on a Pokemon if and only if the player finds a Pokemon with high CP and high IV ratings and the player is already in a high level, way past level 20.
