Microsoft's upcoming 10.6-inch Surface tablet will be available for preorder at Surface.com, with prices starting at $499 for the 32GB model and $699 for the 64GB model.
As for accessories, a standalone Surface Touch Cover will cost $119.99 and the higher-end Type Cover, which is the more palpable of the two-keyboard covers will cost slightly more at $129.99.
The new tablets walls measure in at just 0.65mm, and are comprised of a molten magnesium alloy, which is three times lighter than aluminum. According to Microsoft the new tablet's surface has an "anti-fingerprint coating helps keeps Surface looking flawless."
The device comes with a micro SDXC card that lets potential buyers add up to 64GB of extra memory. The tablet does not run a full version of Windows 8, but does run Windows RT with a Nvidia Tegra 3 quad-core with 2 gigs of RAM.
The device also allows user to Sync their files from other PCs, share work, and collaborate with others through a SkyDrive account with 7GB of free storage on the cloud.
According to the Surface tablet's office page users will be able to have all types of digital media at their disposal: "Xbox gives you access to the latest games, movies, TV shows, and music. Get free access to millions of songs that you can instantly stream to your Surface with Xbox Music3. Buy an Xbox Music Pass to access your music when you're offline and on the go. Find new and exciting apps in the Windows Store 4."
The Surface tablet also comes with a front and rear-facing 720p HD cameras, a full-size USB port, Bluetooth 4.0, and 2x2 MIMO antennas for ultra fast WiFi connectivity. According to the site, "when Surface is resting on the Kickstand, the camera looks straight ahead. Just lean Surface back and start filming, hands-free. Capture life's greatest hits, and share the action with social media and email apps."
