All hail George R.R Martin and his genius brain as he once again excites his fans with the announcement of a new series based on another set of books that he has written. The "Wild Cards" book series, which has been entertaining bookworms since 1987 is finally getting its well-deserved and a little bit overdue TV debut.
Although there is a famous belief that nothing beats the original (in this case the original would be "Game Of Thrones") "Wild Cards" would surely be a worldwide phenomenon that will take the international television viewing by storm because George R.R Martin is the mastermind. It also has a different story from GOT so comparisons can be considered null and void. Jumping from the medieval and mythical world of dragons and swords, the "Wild Cards" series will serve as a refreshing new avenue for TV freaks as it is filled with out of this world supernatural powers featuring different characters embarking on their own adventures.
There is still no specific air date for the "Wild Cards" series but the GOT creator plots late next year or early 2018 for the show's big reveal. Comic books geeks or those who are enchanted with stories of ordinary human beings gaining superpowers can most definitely sign up for "Wild Cards" series fan club.
Another thing to be excited about is the casting for the TV show. Who will star in the first episode of "Wild Cards?" Will there be a resurrection, recycling, crossover of characters from GOT? Lots of burning questions, but only time will tell the answer. As of now, fans and followers of "Wild Cards" must learn to be content that production for the series is already under way and it will only be a matter of time until actors and actresses tapped to play key roles in the series will be announced.
