The decision of Lionsgate to cancel the finale saga, "Divergent: Ascendant" is largely due to the high expenses and low returns of the movie in the box office. According to the same post, the former movies such as "Divergent" and "The Divergent Series: Insurgent" were able to render strong returns, having figures such as $288.8 million and $297.3 million.
Parent Herald also reported that both Theo James and Shailene Woodley have high hopes that Lionsgate would rethink their decision and release the final movie "Divergent: Ascendant" into the box office. For the fans and followers, they also hoped that the movie would see the light of day in the spotlight.
