'Pokemon Go' Latest News & Update: 2nd Generation Region-Exclusive Johto Pokemon Coming? What We Know So Far

"Pokemon Go" continues to roll out in various parts of the world and players are already excited to see new creatures spawning soon. there are rumors that the region-exclusive second generation Johto Pokemon will be launched soon.

The Bitbag wrote that currently, "Pokemon Go" has four region-exclusive creatures. Mr. Mime is only found in Europe, Tauros is exclusive in North America, Farfetch'd is exclusive in Asia, and Kangaskhan is only available in Australia. These Pokemon may also be hatched from an egg, regardless of the trainer's location, but it will be very rare. In the meantime, "Pokemon Go" players are speculating which Pokemon will be exclusive to certain regions, if ever Niantic decides to feature more of the monsters from "Pokemon Gold," "Pokemon Silver," etc.

One Reddit user, MonkeyDLenny, opined that Delibird will only be exclusive to European "Pokemon Go" players. Heracross and Miltank are expected to become available in Japan and the Americas, respectively. Smeargle may also release in South America. The Reddit user added that the region-locked Pokemon appear to be those that do not evolve and he based the second generation on the current region-exclusive creatures in "Pokemon Go."

The user thought that Heracross would be ideal for Asian players because bug and beetle catching is quite popular in those areas. Miltank would be a good addition for Tauros in the United States. MonkeyDLenny admitted that he merely guessed Delibird and Smeargle.

The Telegraph cited that there are 151 monsters in the original game series. "Pokemon Go" currently has 142 catalogued Pokemon, which are also categorized based on rarity. Five legendaries, namely Mew, Mewtwo, Moltres, Articuno and Zapdos have not been included by Niantic. The remaining four are the region-exclusives. Ditto has also been withheld by the "Pokemon Go" creator for unknown reasons. Previously, the Pokemon was an effective creature for breeding purposes. "Pokemon Go" players still look forward to seeing the Pokemon again and Niantic may have related plans with it in the near future.

Niantic has yet to confirm whether second-generation creatures will become available in "Pokemon Go" soon. More updates and details are available soon so stay tuned to Game & Guide.
