The Boston Celtics won their seventeenth NBA title back in 2008 under the leadership of a trio of NBA stars that became effectively known as the "Big Three." The Big Three consisted of power forward Kevin Garnett, small forward Paul Pierce and shooting guard Ray Allen.
Last year saw the Celtic's final run at NBA gold with the Big Three end in the Eastern Conference finals against the eventually NBA champion Miami Heat. The championship window that was ajar had slammed shut. The offseason saw the departure of Ray Allen and the end of theBig Three era.
The Celtics retooled their bench and have decided to build around point guard Rajon Rando. The Celtics replaced Ray Allen with veteran Jason Terry. They also retool the rest of their bench player with the additions of Courtney Lee and Jared Sullinger.
But if it is now Rando's team to run, how will the duo of Pierce and Garnett adjust to what will be likely an abrupt change to the pace of the game on the offensive side of the ball? Celtics are banking that the duo can and that a healthy Jeff Green can become another scorer for Boston.
NBA 2K13 has Boston falling to lower echelon of NBA teams in the east. According to the game the Celtics are going to be cellar dwellers this season. NBA 2K13 is predicting that they will miss the playoffs. The game also predicts that Garnett will decide to retire at the end of the season.
