Niantic released over the weekend its first ever major update for "Pokemon Go" to fix minor issues and roll out new ones as well. However, instead of making the process easier for "Pokemon Go" players, the patch seemed to do the opposite.
No More Footprint Tracking
What caused the most outrage among the "Pokemon Go" players is the elimination of the footprint tracking, Mic reported. This feature showed players how far they are from a Pokemon. However, a bug in the game confused gamers that all Pokemon are just three steps away. Additionally, the steps don't lower down as you approach the Pokemon. Instead of just fixing the bug, Niantic ditched the feature entirely with the new patch released over the weekend.
Since the footprint indicator doesn't work, third-party Pokemon trackers were created. With the use of Pokemon trackers like "Pokevision," players are able to locate a specific Pokemon. The app will also inform the "Pokemon Go" player how long the Pokemon will stay in that area. "Pokevision" seemed to save the whole "Pokemon Go" game but it seems Niantic is bent to make players sweat a little more.
Hey guys. We wish we had some news for you

No More 'Pokevision'
Now, "Pokemon Go" players can no longer use third-party trackers to help locate Pokemon creatures, The Wrap added. Players will no longer see where a specific Pokemon would show up. This could prove troublesome since players may encounter the same Pokemon over and o ver. While blind hunting is the proper way to play the original game, it can be quite disheartening even for the dedicated players to find the same Pokemon instead of the rare ones.
Without the trackers, "Pokemon Go" is no longer fun as expressed by many players who swore off the game. Since it's more difficult to catch a rare Pokemon, players shouldn't be surprised if they find their batteries drained too easily as well.
