‘Rainbow Six Siege’ Latest News, Release Date & Update: Competitive Multiplayer a Priority for Game Developer

'Rainbow Six Siege' Features Competitive Multiplayer; Receives Skull Rain Expansion Today

It was in 2011 that we first heard about "Rainbow Six Patriots" from game developer Ubisoft, but not long after, it was canceled in 2013 in exchange for the now, "Rainbow Six Siege." there were few elements that led to the cancellation, but in a recent interview by GameSpot to the team that developed the Patriots, a lot has been discovered about the true nature of the game.

With the "Rainbow Six Siege" launching last year, it's quite natural to ask whether it contained some parts of the Patriots. Director Alex Remy took the time to answer few questions saying there few multiplayer technological elements in the "Rainbow Six Siege" that he can absolutely attest; came from the Patriots. Other than that, he said it was a clean slate and everything about the new game is brand new.

He also revealed that even the team that created the new "Rainbow Six Siege" were new to the project and only two of them came from the Patriots. So why did they let go of "Rainbow Six Patriots" and opt to create "Rainbow Six Siege?" Remy said, the whole team was about the longevity of the game and the only way to sustain that is to put on the competitive multiplayer; something that the Patriots didn't have.

Apparently, not only did Remy felt it, but the whole team saw the game heading to the multiplayer mode. The sustainability of the game is in the multiplayer and the developer works exactly to that direction.

Developed by Montreal Ubisoft and published by Ubisoft, Tom Clancy's "Rainbow Six Siege" is a first-person shooter videogame that emphasizes on environemtal destruction through co-op gaming. "Rainbow Six Siege is scheduled to receive a new expansion called Skull Rain so make sure not to miss details on that by reading on GameNGuide.com.
