The rising expectations tied up to “The Flash” season 3 continues to ramp up though everyone is perhaps aware that the season will mostly be dictated by the events of “Flashpoint”.
Thanks to his selfishness, Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) has already been teased as returning to a world that has changed enormously. It will be a mix of good and bad for him with his parents alive and together.
While that is the good part, the bad part is looming to overweigh his actions in “The Flash” season 2 finale. After thwarting the murder of his mother Nora Allen (Michelle Harrison), Barry is in a totally new timeline where he technically loses his S.T.A.R. Labs team.
In fact it is no longer S.T.A.R. Labs but “Ramon Enterprises” as shown in the trailer. How Cisco (Carlos Valdes) came to be the top guy for the company will be equally curious though there was no sign of Harrison Wells (Tom Cavanagh) in the trailer shown at SDCC 2016.
What Harrison Wells will we see?
With the “Reverse-Flash” being played by Matt Letscher according to TV Line, that would be one less character that Cavanagh will be portraying. The trailer also showed Cisco as the richest man in the city which eliminates Wells from being the head of the company.
So will we see a return by the Harrison Wells from Earth-2? At some point yet but as for the actual timeline, there may be a new persona appearing.
Tom Cavanagh weighs in
In an interview with TVOM, Wells touched on several topics and mentioned that because of Barry’s actions, everything has been put on reset. All characters will start anew hinting that even a new kind of Harrison Wells will be appearing in season 3 of “The Flash”.
With a complicated scenario, all characters are due for a major revamp in persona. We have seen some of them already like Keiynan Lonsdale as “Kid Flash” plus those teasers showing a dark-suited speedster believed to be the “Black Racer”. There is also “Dr. Alchemy” who many are tying up as the alter ego of newcomer Tom Felton.
“The Flash” season 3 kick off on Oct. 4 on CW with lots of questions hopefully answered thanks to the time-altering season 2 finale. Check out the video interview of TVOM with Tom Cavanagh below.
