‘Legends of Tomorrow’ season 2 will open a whole new plot, the tone of which was already set during the season 1 finale. “Rex Tyler” (Patrick J. Adams) set the stage when he crashed another “Waverider” and revealed that it was the team that sent him back to the exact time and place.
Comic fans are familiar with “Rex Tyler” aka “Hourman” as part of the Justice Society of America (JSA) which indicates that more heroes will be appearing in season 2 of “Legends of Tomorrow”.
Much of this was tackled in a previous post where the JSA was confirmed. Much of that is credited to the tweet put up by Caity Lotz aka “White Canary” tied up to episode 2 of “Legends of Tomorrow” season 2.
Time traveling up to when?
The only thing obvious right now is that the “Legends of Tomorrow” team will be traveling back in time again, most like 1940. This was the year when JSA debuted in the comics but on a different timeline – Earth 2, Screen Rant reported.
Seeing how “The Flash” (Grant Gustin) introduced and altered the timelines, it doesn’t come much of a surprise that such paved the way for JSA’s entry and likely cross-over ideas along the way.
JSA is not a one-time affair
The “Legends of Tomorrow” teams is expected to meet the JSA members though only a few names have been mentioned. Aside from “Hourman”, there is also that “Citizen Steel” reveal at the San Diego Comic Convention.
Right now it remains to be seen who the others will be though many are hoping to see “Sandman”, “Red Tornado”, “Maxine Hunkel”, “Doctor Mid-Nite” and “Doctor Fate”.
As for the “Legends of Tomorrow” team’s itinerary, Brandon Routh (“Ray Palmer”) says that they will be traveling back in time and that it won’t be a limited ordeal as far as the JSA is concerned.
“Well, we’re going back to the ’40s, for the JSA. That’s where we meet the JSA. And I think we’ll spend a fair bit of time there, in different countries within the 1940s. It’s the focus of the first couple episodes. And there’s a couple times we go way back.”
Worth noting is who the team will be up against. "Malcolm Merlin" (John Borrowman) and "Damien Darhk" (Neal McDonough) lead the villainous names and possibly some 'Nazis'.
“Legends of Tomorrow” returns for its second season on CW this October 13, 2016.
