Dishonored the upcoming first-person stealth action adventure video game developed by Arkane Studios and published by Bethesda Softworks, has gone gold, which means the game is ready to be pressed and manufactured for a retail release.
The game is set in the industrial city of Dunwall and follows Corvo Attano, a legendary bodyguard to the Empress. Corvo is framed for her murder and forced to become an assassin to seek revenge on those who framed him. The Outsider, a powerful being aids him with magical abilities.
Dishonored is played from a first-person perspective and features many staples of role playing games including character upgrade and player choice. The game allows the player to tackle a series of assassination missions in a variety of ways. The game is designed to allow the player to complete it without killing any Non player controlled character including bosses.
Besides the main character Corvo is silent, but the game's voice cast features several famous actors who provided voice work for the game, including Susan Sarandon, Brad Dourif, Carrie Fisher, Chloë Grace Moretz, Michael Madsen, and Lena Headey.
Bethesda will be celebrating the game going gold, Bethesda will be giving an "extremely limited" Overseer mask away, in addition to a signed copy of the game. Gamers who are tempted to enter the contest can enter here.
Dishonored will be released on Oct. 9 in North America with subsequent releases following in Australia and Spain on Oct. 11, and across Europe Oct. 12, for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360
