Robert Kirkman has revealed that he had no plans for Negan in the comic books. The creator of "The Walking Dead" has confirmed that the comic series should have ended much earlier. Does this mean the series was not supposed to reach "The Walking Dead" Season 7?

Robert Kirkman Reveals "The Walking Dead" Was Supposed To End In Alexandria

Fans of "The Walking Dead" have always thought that the comics as well as the AMC show would continue forever. However, Robert Kirkman has just confirmed that he has made major changes to the comic book storyline that would affect "The Walking Dead" Season 7.

Robert Kirkman dropped the revelation at the recent San Diego Comic-Con (via ComicBook). The comic book creator announced that "The Walking Dead" would have a different conclusion than originally planned.

"The end has changed," Kirkman told the audience. He revealed one particular change had to do with Rick and his group reaching Washington. "There was one version that would have had it ending as soon as everybody reached Alexandria," Kirkman confessed.

Does This Mean No Negan In "The Walking Dead" Season 7?

So what changes would this make for "The Walking Dead" Season 7? There probably wouldn't be a seventh season at all. The series would have ended as soon as Aaron brought Rick's group to the community.

Nevertheless, it was a good thing that Robert Kirkman decided to change that particular conclusion. Otherwise, "The Walking Dead" comic book series as well as the AMC show would have ended right before Negan would be introduced. "The Walking Dead" Season 7 will air on AMC on October 23.
