Ubisoft announced Assassin's Creed: Ezio Trilogy, an exclusive compilation for PlayStation 3 will release on Nov. 13 for $39.99 and will include Assassin's Creed II, Brotherhood and Revelations.
Assassin's Creed II begins immediately after the events of the first game in 2012; Desmond Miles is still trapped by Abstergo after being forced to use the Animus device to revisit genetic memories of the Assassin Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad.
Lucy Stillman rescues him and takes him to meet two other Assassins who ask him to use the Animus 2.0, to relive memories of another Assassin, Ezio Auditore da Firenze, an assassin from the Renaissance era. Soon Miles finds himself on a quest to learn about aliens and mysterious temples.
Assassin's Creed II garnered widespread critical acclaim and review aggregator site Metacritic gave the PlayStation 3 version a score of 91 and the Xbox 360 version a 90. It also received Game of the Year from GamePro, Eurogamer and The New York Times.
Brotherhood continued the story of Ezio, taking place primarily in Rome, which has fallen into ruin due to the corrupt rule of the Borgia papacy. The game received slightly lower overall ratings than its predecessor, Metacritic gave the PlayStation 3 version a score of 90 and the Xbox 360 version an 89.
Revelations, the final game of the trilogy, features all three of the series' major characters so far: Desmond Miles, Altaïr ibn La'Ahad and Ezio Auditore da Firenze. The finale received the lowest aggregated score of the trilogy, scoring an 80 on both the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
Assassin's Creed 3, the latest story in the saga will release on Oct. 30 for PlayStation 3 and Xbox360. The game will also be a launch title for the Wii u on its Nov. 18 launch date.
