Angry Birds Trilogy Launches Today (Watch the Trailer Here!)

If for some reason, you've yet to play the massive hit that is Angry Birds, you're officially out of excuses. Angry Birds Trilogy is now available on consoles, leaving you with nowhere to run from the angry avian menace.

And that's why green pigs are more than just a poor decorating choice. Since it's release by RovioMobile, the original Angry Birds and all its additions have reached (cumulatively) over one billion downloads. It's now available on everything from Facebook, to mobile phones, nooks, and iPads.

Now, one thing that has to be addressed is the price issue. On various mobile devices, whether it's your iPhone or your iPad, each episode that makes up Angry Birds Trilogy goes for about a buck. But the cost of Trilogy? $30 on Nintendo's 3DS, and $40 for PS3 and XBox 360.

The only way to justify such a price difference is that Angry Birds Trilogy has been digitally remastered, includes 19 original levels, 1080p graphics and artwork, never before seen cinematics that replace the pretty simple animations, surround sound, Move/Kinect support, 3D support, achievements, and plenty of unlockables like never before seen artwork.

Given that it's a compilation of all three episodes (no Angry Birds Space, no Green Day, sorry), Trilogy is estimated to pack about 150 hours worth of gameplay, and DLC is also planned. So it's up to you if continuously sling-shotting multicolored birds into green swine are worth the inflated price.

Whatever you choose, Angry Birds Trilogy is out now for Nintendo DS, PS3, and XBox 360.
