"The Last Man on Earth" is coming back with its season 3 but before that, the cast members attended the San Diego Comic Con on July 23. Led by Will Forte, the rest of the panels present at the 2016 SDCC were Kirsten Schaal, Mel Rodriguez, January Jones, Cleopatra Coleman and Mary Steenburgen.
During the event, Forte confirmed the Sept. 25 air date of "The Last Man on Earth" Season 3. The producer/actor also divulged that the upcoming season will continue where season 2 ended, Hollywood Reporter has learned.
The whole cast also got a lot of questions with regards to their show. Of course, the cast members and producer were not very keen on giving out details since that will only spoil the premiere of their TV series.
However, they managed to share some bits and pieces which were enough to give fans some idea of what was to come in the next season of the show. For the first spoiler, Forte revealed that they will be welcoming three new characters to the program.
He was then asked how could he keep on adding new characters. Forte replied by saying that it is only natural to add more people since any film or TV series usually need more characters to add spice to the story.
The producer added that "The Last Man on Earth" Season 3 will introduce three new characters and revealed the identity of one of the men who was wearing hazmat suit at the finale of season 2. Mark Boone Jr. was named as one of those mysterious men in the yacht. He is not exactly new to the series as he previously appeared as Pat.
As for the two other men, Forte held back and said that they are excited to have them in the cast but he could not reveal their identities yet.
"We all know who the second person is, and I'm very excited about that person. We don't know who the third person is, but I'm excited for you guys to see who it is," Entertainment Weekly quoted Forte as saying.
Nearing the end of the discussion, someone asked Forte to say something about Season 3. As requested, he described it in 3 words saying "Totally. Friggin'. Awesome."
