What if you could build an NBA roster consisting of the best players across all eras? Who would you select number one overall? Do you go with size and draft Wilt Chamberlin or Kareem Abdul-Jabbar? Many would draft arguably the greatest player in the history of the NBA, his Airiness Michael Jordan. The 6-foot-6 shooting guard out of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. The latest generation of NBA fans may select Lebron James, a gifted athletic small forward. According to 2K Sports this year's edition of NBA 2K13 will let gamers assemble a team of present and past legends.
"MyTeam this is a feature where you build a team based on players," producer Erick Boenisch said. "You can go to the store and purchase booster packs of players and you are basically just trying to build the best team you can. But we aren't limiting you to just NBA players this year. You can actually go out and get classic players in the booster packs as well."
Within the MyTeam mode is another mode called Road To the Playoffs this mode starts gamers three games out of the eighth playoff seed with 12 games remaining. Gamer will have to just win those three games to make the playoffs but the more games they win the more rewards earned.
"Once you move up start getting free rewards," Boenisch said. " We start giving you free players. We start giving you free virtual currency. We start giving you free booster packs and the whole goal of this mode is to rise all the way up to the one seed."
Road to the Playoffs is an online only mode, but gamers looking to play with their MyTeam offline will also have options. There are exhibition games against teams with different tiers of difficulty that will earn players rewards to purchase new players in the NBA 2K13's market place.
