Resident Evil 6 Release Date On PC Still Unknown

Resident Evil 6 is set to terrify gamers on Oct. 2, for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, but PC gamers will have to wait to play the new dramatic horror third-person shooter video game, according to a post on the Capcom Unity Blog by Senior Vice-President Christian Svensson.

"The process did not begin until after the console versions were complete, submitted, approved by console 1st parties to use that final codebase as the starting point," Svensson said. "It will be some time still before we provide details on release dates and PC specific parameters."

According Svensson, work did not begin on the PC version of the game until after the console editions were finished because Capcom wanted to get it right and avoid making the same mistakes it made with previous entries in the series.

"It is a small, but appropriately sized team working on the RE6 PC project," he said. "It is a different group than originally planned, lest it would have taken even longer than it currently will but this team will do a better job than what was being considered originally."

Svensson also took a strong stance on some gamers that belief that Capcom has failed to make an effort for porting its games to PC, but according to him this may have been the case before, but it will not happen with Resident Evil 6.

"Projects like this you guys seem to think are "trivial" but they are not, Svensson said. "When they get treated as trivial, you end up with Resident Evil 4 PC..., which I don't think too, many true fans were pleased with."
