"Dead Rising" is set to return to PlayStation 4 soon. More installments from the franchise are also expected to arrive in the future.
The original Dead Rising game was exclusive to Xbox 360 when it launched in 2006. Recently, a set of trophies on PlayStation 4 in July 2016 hinted that "Dead Rising" will have a PS4 version.
Capcom also confirmed that the title will also be available on Xbox One and Windows PC soon. The game developer is also reportedly going to release "Dead Rising 2" and "Dead Rising 2: Off the Record" on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
No release dates have been announced yet but fans can expect more updates in the following months.
Polygon reported that the original Xbox 360 Dead Rising game was widely successful since it launched, contributing to the trend of zombie-themed titles in previous-generation platforms. "Dead Rising" is actually inspired by the zombie classic titled, "Dawn of the Dead," by George Romero.
The second installment of the game released in 2010, and was also playable on PlayStation 3 and Windows PC.
GameSpot stated that the Dead Rising 2 and Off the Record games are currently available on PC. The original Dead Rising title is not, which hints that the new versions are merely ports and not remasters.
Capcom may subsequently decide to give it an enhanced treatment in terms of graphics and gameplay. All three Dead Rising titles feature open-world settings where gamers can take advantage of various types of weapons against hordes of zombies.
Frank West, the main protagonist, was introduced to PlayStation 3 initially in the Dead Rising 2: Off the Record game in 2011, which was a reimagining of the Dead Rising 2 title. West played the lead character instead of Chuck Greene.
The first game follows Frank, a photojournalist, who is trapped inside a shopping mall in fictional Willamette, Colorado, a town infested with Zombies. The Dead Rising 4 title will be set in the same location during the holidays.
The "Dead Rising 3" title in 2013 was launched exclusively on Xbox One. The Dead Rising 4 title will allegedly release at the end of 2016, which will be exclusive to Xbox One and Windows PC. It will be a timed-exclusive, which means that the game will not be playable on other platforms for one whole year.
Updates and details on "Dead Rising" on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Windows PC are expected soon.
