"Scream Queens" Season 2 is currently in development. Lea Michele recently provided some behind-the-scenes glimpses of the "Scream Queens" Season 2 promo shoot on Snapchat, showing several new characters in action.
Aside from Lea Michele, Scream Queens fans were delighted to know that "Twilight" star Taylor Lautner will be part of the cast. Lautner will take on the role of Dr. Cassidy Cascade, a handsome physician who suffers from a mysterious medical condition in the new season of "Scream Queens."
Emma Roberts recently revealed that either Lautner or John Stamos, who plays head surgeon Dr. Brock Holt, will be Chanel's love interest in the new season of "Scream Queens."
TVLine stated that Michele's Snapchat revelation also provided fans with an initial peek of James Earl, who will play Candy Striper. There were a number of cameo appearances from various returning members of the cast like Billie Lourd, Niecy Nash and Abigail Breslin.
Refinery29 revealed that "Scream Queens" Season 2 will begin with the Chanels and other members of the core female group having been relocated to a creepy mental institution.
Although the setting is set to take "Scream Queens" fans on another horrific ride, the storyline apparently includes several hot guys doing rounds in the hospital. Stamos is expected to keep a number of secrets while Lautner may be involved in a murder incident that the girls will investigate soon.
Show creator Ryan Murphy seems to be strategizing how to combat sexism more in "Scream Queens" Season 2, with the introduction of handsome men to take on the sexy roles for a change.
Murphy has a history of creating shows that focus on women and featuring recurring female stars. In the first season of "Scream Queens," a number of beautiful men have also been featured, such as Nick Jonas, Glen Powell and Diego Boneta.
The same trend is expected to continue in "Scream Queens" Season 2.In the new Scream Queens story, Billie Lourd will return as Chanel No. 3, while Lea Michele will reprise her role as Hester.
Some of the notable characters in the new Scream Queens season include Jamie Lee Curtis, who plays Dean Munsch, and Chanel No. 5, who is not supposed to be messed with. The show creator hinted that Dr. Holt and Dr. Cassidy will most likely be killed off as the second season progresses.
"Scream Queens" Season 2 is set to launch on Sept. 20, 2016 on FOX. More updates and details are expected soon.
