"The Vampire Diaries" season 8 will make a return to The CW this October and rumor has it that Nina Dobrev may be making some special appearances in the upcoming season after the actress recorded new material for the Season 7 finale.
Her guest stint came as a delightful surprise for fans who have missed Elena in the series, and the project came together after series creator reached out to the 27-year old Bulgarian-Canadian actress to record new material for the show. "[Nina] chose to do it in person, which was great, because it was a nice little personal Nina visit," Plec told .
But will Dobrev return to "The Vampire Diaries" anytime soon? Plec promised that she will bring back Elena once a series finale is in sight, meaning when the show comes to an end, which for now is not yet in sight thanks to its stellar ratings.
"Obviously things can change throughout time, if the show goes on longer than we expect it to, or if we all collectively decide it would be fun to bring her back earlier, and she wanted to," Plec said. Meanwhile, when "The Vampire Diaries" season 8 debuts this October, it seems that someone will come about to spark tension between Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Caroline (Candice King), who have been the new stellar couple of the show.
According to TV Guide, a "powerful new woman" is arriving to Mystic Falls, only to begin fancying Stefan. Moreover, this mystery woman has some "questionable methods" hidden up her sleeve, so this may mean trouble for Steroline. But fans need not worry, as Stefan is ready to fight for Caroline, despite this mystery woman's devious schemes.
What's in store for Stefan and Caroline when "The Vampire Diaries" season 8 returns? Fans will have to tune in this Friday, October 21 at 8 p.m. on The CW.
