Game publisher Electronic Arts (EA) recently added two new titles to its EA Access service Vault section. The introduction currently allows subscribers to play the full versions of "Need For Speed" and "Unravel" using the app, which is still exclusive to Xbox One.
EA most likely featured both "Unravel" and the full version of "Need For Speed" to appeal to fans of the franchise and hopefully gain more subscribers in the coming weeks.
Digital Trends wrote that players who are looking for an exciting gaming experience will find the full version of "Need For Speed" to their liking. The racing title is the twenty-second installment in the long-running franchise and will function as a full reboot that brings the focus of the series to the tuner scene once again.
Although "Need For Speed" initially received mixed reactions from players, the game gained momentum over time.
EA Access subscribers may find it worthwhile to try "Need For Speed" post-launch, considering that it is one of the few reliable titles for street racing enthusiasts and a new installment will not be available within 2016.
In another Digital Trends report, EA announced that "Need For Speed" will skip its launch in 2016. Series developer Ghost Games will instead focus to build on the foundations that were prepared with the multiplatform reboot of "Need For Speed" in 2015.
This means that the next Need for Speed sequel will release sometime in 2017. The series developer added that they will actively be working with their community and several opportunities will bring several fans into the studio in the following months to provide feedback on the direction that they are taking for the new "Need For Speed."
It was not the first time that EA skipped an annual release for the Need For Speed series. The game publisher also skipped its 2014 launch to prepare for the rebooted version in 2015. If the pattern continues, the game may be set for a biennial release approach.
The EA Access subscription to avail of the "Need For Speed" full version is priced at $4.99 per month. Those who subscriber will gain unlimited time with games featured in The Vault, as well as enjoy timed trials of new releases.
Subscribers can also play upcoming games like "Battlefield 1" and "FIFA 16" one week ahead of their scheduled retail launch for a total of 10 hours.
