The first potential Marvel series on Fox is close to happening with reports that a pilot commitment for a new “X-Men” action-adventure series is in the works.
Word of such comes from Variety which bared that an untitled series is in the works and that Martin Nix will be penning the show. The series will evolve on the story of two normal parents who discover that their children have mutant powers.
In an effort to avoid a hostile government, they end up being on the run and avoid capture. They eventually come across and underground group of mutants, eventually joining their cause on how to survive.
DC heroes warned
Until today, the TV series niche had been dominated by DC-inspired heroes. While most of them are with CW, Fox has had similar inspired films like “Gotham” and “Lucifer”. Should things pan out, the “X-Men” TV series could be the biggest one the network will have to offer.
Joining Nix will be executive producer Bryan Singer, Lauren Shuler Donner, Simon Kinberg, plus Marvel’s Jeph Loeb and Jim Chory. It will the first co-production between Marvel Television and 20th Century Fox Television.
Marvel TV flicks rundown
To date, the only other Marvel-related heroes are “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.”, “Daredevil” and “Jessica Jones”. Marvel’s Agent Carter had a brief run but is now cancelled. There is another one on the mend, “Marvel’s Damage Control” which is based on the comics construction company.
Other series over at Netflix will have “Luke Cage” debuting on Sept 30, 2016. “Iron Fist”, “The Defenders” and “The Punisher” have yet to get a release date.
With no working title for now, it will be interesting what the “X-Men” TV series will use. With the plot and people behind it already in place, the revelation could come soon.
