It ain't easy being an Asgardian god. In fact, it entails a lot of grueling, muscle-forming workouts. Just ask Chris Hemsworth, who plays the otherworldly superhero in Marvel's "Thor" and "Avengers."
The actor is currently filming the third installment of the successful "Thor" franchise in his homeland, Australia, and has taken to social media to share his workout regimen that brought back his admirable pack of abs (he had to lose weight when he filmed "In the Heart of the Sea," where he played a sailor who gets shipwrecked in the ocean).
According to the Daily Mail, the actor shared one of the secrets behind his buffed up body, crediting Dr. Eric Goodman's Foundation Training as key to keeping fit. Dr. Goodman has a new book out called "True to Form," in which Hemsworth wrote a foreword. The actor took to his Facebook account to share his thoughts on how sedentry lifestyle has contributed to chronic pain among millions of people all over the world. He also wrote that Dr. Goodman's years of study has helped people like him who have experienced chronic pain.
"If you've ever suffered from back pain or want a stronger healthier body then check this book out, I incorporate it into my everyday workouts and daily movements and I've never felt stronger, it's incredible," Hemsworth wrote. "[Dr. Goodman's] practical program trains the posterior chain muscles—shoulders, back, butt, and legs—shifting the burden of support to where it belongs: the large muscle groups."
Hemsworth's "Thor: Ragnarok" co-star, Mark Ruffalo, who plays Hulk in the "Avengers" and is set to appear in the upcoming film alongside Thor, is yet another one who seems to be having fun on set. The social media-savvy actor and environmental activist recently posted a photo of himself hauling the green giant's hands, and a video of himself with marks all over his face, most likely for the CGI effects as he morphs into Hulk.
Hi again. Here's another sneak peek at a day in the life of a #Hulk on the set of #Thor3 @marvel
