"Supernatural" is set to come back for Season 12 on Oct. 13. The 11th installment wrapped up in May and it boasts of strong viewership rating of about 1.8 million audience.
With that number of viewers alone, it is not hard to assume that CW Network will continue airing the show. The predictions were right and "Supernatural" Season 12 is already in the works. Protagonists Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki have already signed a deal that will make them part of Season 12 and 13. This means that the Winchester brothers will continue their hunt for monsters and demons, Deadline reported.
Moreover, CW president Mark Pedowitz stated that as long as the two actors agree to continue acting in the series, there is no way that the show will stop airing on television. The CEO is a known avid fan of the the show as well.
In "Supernatural" Season 12, showrunner Jeremy Carver is stepping down to focus on his new thriller entitled "Frequency." He will be replaced by new showrunner team consisting of former executive producers namely Robert Singer and Andrew Dabb.

At any rate, the finale of season 11 showed Dean finding his mother in the woods and she has been resurrected. What could happened next after that?
It is believed that it will take time before Sam and Dean could process the fact that their mother is back. Many also think that the reunion will either be tragic or sweet and it will surely be awkward for everyone.
The brothers will also have different perspectives on the return of their mother. While Dean may be more affected and would want closure for the things that happened to them in the past, Sam may not be expecting anything for he did not know much as he was still very young when she was killed.
Finally, although this could be the situation when Mary reappeared in the Winchester brothers' life, viewers are excited to see how they will be moving forward with their mother Mary around in "Supernatural" season 12. As for the villain, it was speculated that the next villain would be Lady Antonia Bevell because she behaved badly in the season 11 finale.
